About Gantt Chart

Draw tasks with a date range as horizontal bars and see your whole project schedule at a glance. It runs in the browser with no spreadsheet or install, and you can zoom between 2 weeks, month, 3 months and the full range.

Drag a bar to move it and drag either end to change its length. Each task has a progress value (in 5% steps) and a short note, and tasks that pass their end date unfinished are marked late.

Big tasks can have one level of subtasks. Set the parent's dates first, then split the work inside them; the parent's progress is calculated from its subtasks, weighted by duration. Moving a parent bar moves its subtasks with it.

Connect Google Calendar to import events as Gantt tasks (read-only access). You can keep up to 50 tasks. Without signing in they stay in this browser; sign in with Google and they sync across devices.

What is a Gantt chart?

A schedule that lists tasks down the side and draws each one as a bar from its start to its end date. It shows at a glance what overlaps and what is running late, which is why it is widely used for project management.

If I change an event in Google Calendar, does the Gantt chart update?

Not automatically. Imported events are copied into the Gantt chart, so when the calendar date changes the task shows a notice and you choose whether to match it.

Can I export to or import from Excel?

Yes. Under 'File' you can export to CSV (Excel, Google Sheets) or MS Project XML, and import either format. A CSV only needs Name and Start columns in its first row; for subtasks, put the parent's name in a Parent column. MS Project XML opens in MS Project, ProjectLibre and GanttProject.
